Dir Lower: PRCS Organizes Winter Relief Activity for Vulnerable Communities Amid Cold Wave

Dir Lower – Acting on the special directions of the Honourable Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Dir Lower Branch organized a winter relief activity in response to the prevailing cold wave across the district. The initiative reflects PRCS’s unwavering commitment to extending timely humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable segments of society during harsh weather conditions.

Blanket Distribution at Dar-ul-Aman and District Jail

As part of the relief campaign, blankets were distributed among deserving individuals at the District Rehabilitation Centre (Dar-ul-Aman) and the District Jail, Dir Lower. The activity aimed to provide warmth and comfort to those facing severe winter conditions, particularly individuals with limited access to basic necessities.

The initiative was designed to ensure that marginalized and underserved populations, including women at the rehabilitation centre and inmates at the district jail, receive adequate protection against the cold wave.

Coordination Meeting with Jail Administration

Prior to the distribution at the District Jail, a coordination meeting was held with the Jail Superintendent. During the meeting, the jail administration briefed the visiting delegation on various challenges faced by prisoners, including issues related to living conditions and welfare needs.

Following the meeting, different sections of the jail were visited under the supervision of the Jail Superintendent and Akram Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief & Human Rights). The visit allowed PRCS representatives and district officials to assess conditions firsthand and ensure that the relief items were distributed transparently and efficiently.

Presence of District Administration

The relief activity was graced by the presence of Wajid Ali Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), and Mr. Akram Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief & Human Rights). Both officers highly appreciated the humanitarian efforts of PRCS Dir Lower and commended the organization’s proactive response to the cold wave.

They also acknowledged the timely support extended by the PRCS Provincial Headquarters, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which enabled the district branch to carry out this important relief activity effectively. The collaboration between the district administration and PRCS demonstrates a shared commitment to safeguarding the welfare and well-being of vulnerable communities.

PRCS KP Provides Winter Relief to Vulnerable Families in Shangla

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, District Branch Shangla, distributed warm blankets to the most vulnerable and poorest families of Tehsil Alpuri, District Shangla. This humanitarian relief initiative was carried out under the special approval of Chairman PRCS KP, Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, targeting the winter zone of Shangla to provide timely support during the harsh cold season.

The distribution aimed to protect vulnerable families from extreme winter conditions, ensuring that they receive essential aid to maintain warmth and well-being. The initiative reflects PRCS KP’s commitment to assisting communities in need, especially during seasonal emergencies where timely intervention can make a critical difference.

Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir emphasized that supporting the most marginalized communities is a core humanitarian responsibility, and PRCS KP will continue its efforts to provide essential winter aid and protect lives in cold-affected regions across the province.

PRCS KP Provides Winter Support to Orphan Children in Shangla

On the special instructions of Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PRCS KP), Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, the PRCS KP District Branch Shangla distributed blankets to 100 orphan children at Pakistan Sweet Home Shangla.

The initiative was carried out to protect the children from the harsh winter conditions and ensure their comfort and well-being during the cold season. Each child received a blanket, providing much-needed warmth and support.

Chairman Farzand Ali Wazir highlighted that caring for vulnerable children, especially orphans, is a humanitarian priority, and PRCS KP remains committed to providing timely assistance and support to those in need.
